"Global-inspired party tunes...perfect accompaniment for glamorous entertaining!" - Glamour UK
Rasa Music is proud to be collaborating with "Momo" and Most Records to be releasing, "One Night At Momo's Kemia Bar" which includes the sublime North African electro-dub music of "Smadj" (coming soon on Rasa).
Most Records is the latest project of one of the most innovative restaurateurs and entrepreneurs in Europe, Mourad “Momo” Mazouz, along with his good friend, producer Stephane Malca. Mourad’s famous restaurant, Momo’s, one of the first North African eateries in the UK, was opened to the public as Madonna threw a party for Naomi Campbell and Stella McCartney. Understandably, the popularity of the restaurant quickly grew. Momo’s has become a London institution, as the restaurant and bar, The Kemia Bar, are now synonymous with an electric atmosphere and authentic North African food. Many agree that Mourad and his restaurant were instrumental in bringing the now popular North African culture to the British.
With live bands being flown in from all over the world, The Kemia Bar at Momo’s continues to be hailed not only as one of the West End’s premier night spots, but also as a major contributor to the ever growing popularity of world music. “One Night at Momo’s Kemia Bar” was created in close collaboration with Kemia Bar’s in-house DJ, Greg Sonata. It is a vibrant, eclectic compilation which includes global-inspired party tunes including Carl Craig’s remix of Cesaria Evora’s ‘Angola’ and Ojos De Brujo’s ‘Ventilaor R-80’, Tiefschwarz ‘Renix’ and Ursula Rucker feat. Lil Louie Vega ‘Release’.
